Supporting Individuals and Organisations Through Therapy and Workplace Wellbeing

At Sophie’s Well-Being Practice, I support individuals and organisations in strengthening emotional wellbeing and resilience. Through counselling, hypnotherapy and workplace wellbeing support, I help people better understand how stress affects the mind and nervous system, supporting healthier ways of responding to anxiety, grief, low self-esteem and the pressures of modern life and work.

Welcome and thank you for being here

This short video offers an introduction to my work, sharing a little about the journey, values and approach behind Sophie’s Well-Being Practice.

I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, hypnotherapist and wellbeing practitioner, supporting individuals, professionals and organisations with emotional wellbeing, resilience and workplace wellbeing. My work focuses on helping people understand and respond more effectively to stress, trauma, burnout and other emotional challenges.

As you watch, I hope you’ll gain a sense not only of the support I offer through counselling, hypnotherapy and workplace wellbeing services, but also of how I work and whether this feels like a place where you can feel supported, understood and at ease.

Working with me: Sophie Snell
D.M.H., D.Hyp., CPNLP, EMDR, GQHP, Prof. Dip Psy C, M.N.C.P.S.(Acc.)

At Sophie’s Well-Being Practice, my work is grounded in a simple but essential belief: while professional training and experience matter, every individual and organisation brings their own knowledge, experiences and context.

Whether supporting someone through personal challenges or partnering with organisations to strengthen workplace wellbeing and culture, the process is always collaborative.

Alongside supporting individuals, I also work with organisations to strengthen workplace wellbeing, helping leaders and teams better understand how stress affects the mind and nervous system, and how healthier environments support resilience, communication and sustainable performance.

I offer counselling, hypnotherapy and integrative wellbeing support in Leamington Spa and online across the UK, alongside workplace wellbeing consultancy, corporate workshops and leadership support for organisations.

The relationships we build together play an important role in meaningful change. In therapy, coaching and workplace wellbeing work, feeling safe, heard and understood creates the foundation for growth. Creating environments where people can reflect openly, explore challenges and develop new ways of responding is central to how I work.

Alongside my therapeutic practice, I have extensive experience supporting organisations around the overall people experience, including workplace wellbeing, leadership development and psychological safety. I have worked closely with senior leadership teams to reflect on how culture, systems and leadership behaviours influence the lived experience of employees. This work has deepened my understanding of how stress, burnout, trauma and workplace pressures affect both individuals and teams.

A key part of my approach involves helping people and organisations understand how stress affects the nervous system. When pressure becomes prolonged, the nervous system can shift into patterns of heightened alertness, overwhelm or exhaustion. Recognising these patterns can help individuals develop healthier responses to stress, while organisations can create environments that support resilience, psychological safety and sustainable performance.

Whether supporting professionals experiencing high levels of pressure, individuals navigating trauma or grief, or organisations seeking healthier ways of working, I have seen how environments that prioritise emotional wellbeing and psychological safety allow people and workplaces to function, relate and thrive more sustainably.

My journey into this profession was shaped in part by my own lived experience of trauma. While the therapy space is never about my personal story, those experiences helped shape my commitment to creating environments grounded in compassion, trust and emotional safety.

I am trained as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, clinical hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner, EMDR practitioner, Reiki Master and transformational coach. My work is informed by trauma-aware approaches, nervous-system understanding and heart-based practices, alongside qualifications in occupational health and safety. This breadth of training allows me to work integratively, drawing on different approaches depending on the needs of the individual, team or organisation.

However, I do not believe wellbeing support is about applying techniques to people. My work is collaborative and client-led, recognising that individuals and organisations hold valuable insight into their own experiences and challenges. My role is to bring professional knowledge, curiosity and care, working alongside people rather than directing or “fixing”.

Over the years I have seen how powerful it can be when someone finally feels understood. Anxiety begins to soften, perspective widens and confidence grows. Whether working with individuals experiencing stress or grief, professionals navigating workplace pressures, or organisations seeking healthier ways of working, the common thread is the importance of being met as a whole person.

Outside of my work, I’m a mum of two and know first-hand how easily wellbeing can slip amidst the demands of life and work. Spending time with loved ones and going to the gym are part of how I care for my own wellbeing, helping me remain present, steady and attentive in my professional practice.

My role is not to fix people. It is to walk alongside individuals, professionals and organisations, helping them make sense of their experiences and supporting meaningful, sustainable change in life, work and wellbeing.

Integrative Therapeutic Approaches and Wellbeing Support

Overview

At Sophie’s Well-Being Practice, I work with both individuals and organisations, supporting people to better understand how stress, life experiences and workplace pressures affect the mind, body and nervous system.

When we experience ongoing stress, trauma, loss or pressure, the nervous system can become dysregulated. This may show up as anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, emotional reactivity, loss of confidence or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns.

My work focuses on helping people understand these patterns and develop healthier ways of responding, creating lasting change for individuals, teams and organisations.

To support this, I draw on a range of integrative therapeutic and wellbeing approaches, allowing support to be tailored to each person, team or organisation.

🌿 CounsellingUnderstanding Patterns and Supporting Emotional Wellbeing

Counselling offers a confidential and supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions and experiences at your own pace. It helps individuals and professionals make sense of life’s challenges, develop emotional resilience and create meaningful, sustainable change.

At Sophie’s Well-Being Practice, I use a pluralistic counselling approach, drawing from different therapeutic models depending on the needs of the individual or situation.

These include:

Person-Centred Therapy – providing empathy, acceptance and a non-judgemental space where people feel heard and understood.

Psychodynamic Therapy – exploring deeper emotional patterns and past experiences that may influence present behaviours and relationships.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – practical tools to help shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.

Gestalt Therapy – increasing awareness of emotions, body sensations and relational dynamics.

Transactional Analysis (TA) – understanding communication styles, behavioural patterns and relationship dynamics.

Through counselling, individuals can gain greater self-understanding, emotional regulation and resilience, supporting both personal wellbeing and healthier ways of navigating work and life.

🌟 CoachingStrengthening Clarity, Confidence and Performance

Transformational coaching supports individuals, professionals and leaders in developing greater self-awareness, confidence and emotional intelligence, helping them move forward with clarity and purpose.

Through powerful questioning, guided reflection and heart-based practices, coaching explores both goals and the deeper beliefs that influence decisions and behaviour.

Coaching can support:

• clarifying direction and goals
• strengthening confidence and self-belief
• developing emotional intelligence and resilience
• improving decision-making and leadership skills
• navigating personal or professional transitions

For professionals and organisations, coaching also supports performance, leadership development and workplace wellbeing.

💫 HypnotherapyWorking With the Subconscious Mind and Nervous System

Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind, where many beliefs, habits and emotional responses are stored. When stress or difficult experiences occur, these patterns can become embedded within the mind and nervous system.

In a calm, focused state of relaxation, the mind shifts into alpha and theta brainwave frequencies, allowing the nervous system to settle and become more receptive to change.

During hypnotherapy you remain fully aware and in control, while accessing deeper inner resources that support healing and transformation.

Hypnotherapy can support:

• stress, anxiety and overwhelm
• confidence and self-esteem
• fears, phobias and limiting beliefs
• sleep issues and insomnia
• breaking unhelpful habits
• trauma, grief and life transitions
• improving focus, motivation and performance
• psychosomatic symptoms and emotional tension
• stopping smoking or vaping
• healthy lifestyle and weight management

My approach combines clinical hypnotherapy, psychological insight and nervous-system awareness to help release patterns that feel stuck and support lasting change.

🌀 NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Reframing Patterns and Building Empowering Beliefs

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) explores how thoughts, language and behaviour interact. It helps identify unconscious patterns that may be limiting progress and supports new, more empowering ways of thinking and responding.

I integrate NLP techniques across counselling, coaching, hypnotherapy, EMDR and workplace wellbeing work.

NLP can support:

• clearer thinking and perspective
• reframing limiting beliefs
• improving internal dialogue
• strengthening emotional resilience
• building healthier behavioural patterns
• enhancing confidence, motivation and self-awareness

These techniques help individuals and professionals develop greater mental flexibility, emotional intelligence and resilience.

🌼 EMDR Processing Difficult Experiences and Reducing Emotional Triggers

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain reprocess overwhelming or distressing experiences so they no longer feel emotionally “stuck”.

When experiences overwhelm the nervous system, memories can remain stored with the same emotional intensity as when they first occurred.

EMDR helps the brain process these experiences safely, allowing them to be integrated in a healthier way.

EMDR can support:

• trauma and PTSD
• anxiety and panic
• grief and loss
• low self-esteem and shame
• childhood or relational wounds
• phobias and persistent fears
• emotional triggers and stress responses

Sessions focus on nervous system regulation, grounding and emotional safety, helping individuals move from reactivity toward resilience.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)Regulating the Nervous System Through Tapping

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), often known as tapping, is a body-based method that combines mindful awareness with gentle tapping on acupressure points.

This approach helps calm the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity and support the release of stored stress.

EFT can support:

• anxiety, stress and overwhelm
• trauma and emotional memories
• self-limiting beliefs
• physical tension linked to stress
• fears and performance anxiety
• building confidence and self-compassion

EFT provides a practical self-regulation tool that can be used both in sessions and in everyday life.

🌙 Reiki Supporting Relaxation, Balance and Emotional Wellbeing

Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that promotes deep relaxation, emotional balance and overall wellbeing.

During a session, healing energy is channelled through light touch or hands placed just above the body, helping release energetic tension and restore balance.

Reiki may support:

• stress and emotional overwhelm
• anxiety and nervous system tension
• fatigue and low energy
• grief and emotional release
• sleep difficulties
• overall wellbeing and relaxation

Reiki is often used as a complementary approach alongside therapeutic work, helping people reconnect with their body and restore a sense of calm and balance.
